GAME DESCRIPTION

The players draw cards from a card supply in the middle of the table. During the game, the players try to specialize in a few colors, as at the end of the game, a player can score plus points for only 3 colors; the rest score minus points. The more cards a player has of a color, the more points he scores. The player with the most points wins.

Coloretto is quite a nice card game which bends your mind with lots of difficulty choices. It is light in the fact that the rules are simple and straightforward, but challenging in that you find yourself second-guessing yourself constantly, as does everyone. This is a game of woulda shoulda coulda, since no one knows what that pesky deck will turn up next. Both gambling and playing it safe are both viable tactics in Coloretto.
Those looking for a whole lot of depth might consider looking elsewhere, though the colorful Coloretto brings lots of flair and fun in a quick but light package.

This is a fun light card game. The rules are so simple that it can be taught easily and the game can be played by family or by more serious gamers (but make sure you keep score over several rounds to average out the luck factor).
In this game, one tries to collect different colored chameleons. There are 7 different colors of them, but here is the trick. One gets points for their longest three suits collected, but lose points for the other suits. During your turn, you either add a card to a column, or take a column of cards. There are a maximum of 3 cards per column. If you add too much good stuff to a column, it may get taken by someone else, and if you add too much bad stuff to a column,

Every once in a while a small, unpretentious game will get published that seems underwhelming at first glance but ends up being a true favorite with wide appeal. I, for one, have a hard time finding short (less than 30 minutes) games that I enjoy playing. (I do enjoy a game called For Sale, but it out of print and therefore nearly pointless to recommend since the vast majority of people can't acquire a copy for themselves.) Any game that is short is necessarily not too complicated, and most of the time I feel that the decisions are uninteresting. Thankfully, there are a few exceptions, and Coloretto is the leader of the pack.
The gameplay is very simple. Goal: Get as many cards as you can
